There is help for baby colic and constipation....thank you Health Canada and Bio Gaia....

Russell has finally shown an interest in solids. Happy Days!!!! But all this great new healthy food has created a little problem called constipation. When I can get him to eat yogurt it helps - a lot. It is just that sometimes will not eat it. Thanks to a fantastic recommendation from a wonderful customer (she also happens to work with Health Canada) we have found a solution, Bio Gaia Probiotic Drops.

Having an extensive background in the Health Food industry - I was already aware of the benefits of probiotics. Unfortunately most of the probiotic supplements on the market are junk.... Not this one... This is the real deal......

Why so special...well it contains Lactobacillus reuteri and according to the companies Website....

L. reuteri basic facts

What is  Lactobacillus reuteri?

Lactobacillus reuteri (L. reuteri) is recognised as a true probiotic thanks to its positive effects on human health and that it meets all the requirements on modern probiotic products (WHO/FAO 2002).
To date, its efficiency and safety for humans has been studied in 67 trials on more than 4,500 individuals of all ages. Results are published in 37 articles in scientific journals (Feb 2010). This makes it one of the most well researched probiotics.
Where does it come from?
The commercial strains of L. reuteri are derived from different human ecosystems such as mother’s milk and saliva.
What does it do?
L. reuteri Protectis (scientific strain designation DSM 17938, formerly L. reuteri ATCC 55730) exerts both direct effects on pathogens but it has also effects mediated through modulation of the immune system, via the gastrointestinal epithelium.
L. reuteri Prodentis, a blend of the two strains DSM 17938 and ATCC PTA 5289, has likewise been shown to inhibit pathogens in the oral cavity and modulate its immune defence. Thereby L. reuteri Prodentis helps to reduce the symptom bleeding gums and amount of plaque on the teeth.
Why is L. reuteri so special?
L. reuteri is a natural colonizer in humans from the time we are born and is even found in the milk of breastfeeding mothers. It is one of very few species of Lactobacillus that is uniquely adapted to reside in the digestive tract of man and to interact with us in symbiosis (Oh PL et al. 2009). Most other bacteria have their natural living environment outside the human body and are just temporary residents derived from ingested food.
L. reuteri is also unique among probiotics in producing the natural inhibitory substance reuterin.

The Cutest Butt in Town!

I have to admit that today I opened  a shipment at Coo Chi Coo that made me coo coo coo. I got so excited about cute little baby girls that it got me thinking....Russell and Max really need a baby sister!

So what could get this sleep deprived Mom so excited you ask? It's this new line of diaper covers and infant clothes at Coo Chi Coo.

Ruffle Butts are 100 percent cotton diaper covers that have three rows of ruffled goodness that stretch from cheek to cheek. Quality constructed, RuffleButts is a brand new line of fun & frilly everyday playwear for infants and toddlers. This company is bringing back the RuffleButt, with a modern version of the adorable ruffled baby bloomer!
So, pretty much beyond their super-cuteness, RuffleButts’ are made with high-quality construction and attention to detail that will wow you!

The bloomers have light-weight elastic at the waistline and at each leg opening.  Even on a chunky-monkey baby girl, there are NO elastic marks left on cute chubby thighs.

They are made of the softest cotton and all of the items from RuffleButts wash very well.  I’m so excited with the clothing-line from RuffleButts ... now I just have to convince Chris to try for baby #3. Do you think Russell would forgive me if I dressed him up in some Ruffles?

New to Coo Chi Coo and lovin it....

New Skip Hop Order is in and I couldn't wait to try this out.

SPLASH is a modern bottle drying rack that is the perfect addition to any kitchen. Its space saving circular design keeps all of baby’s feeding accessories off the counter, and the included brush makes cleaning quick and easy. The unique shelf is perfect for nipples, straws, valves and other small items.

I use to sterilize and store bottles and pacifiers in a big colander lined with a dish towel. I'd dig through it with my one free hand trying to grab bottle parts or a pacifier. I truly LOVE this design. Brilliant.
